My Three Sets

Once I obtain my holy Conqueror's chestpiece, I'm done running heroic dungeons again and again for the Emblems of Conquest. I have a few pieces which will come from Trial of the Champion (both normal and heroic versions) and a pair of wrist-bracers which need to be crafted. Also, my head and shoulders will be rewarded from Emblems of Triumph.

My current tanking set puts me at about 27,000 hit-points, which is not fantastic but is adequate for heroic dungeons. Frankly, I don't do much (read: any) tanking, anyway, but it's my second specialty and I may as well have the set on standby in case the guild ever calls on me to tank or off-tank.

I revisited the retribution-armor wishlist I placed in a spreadsheet today and updated it with faction rewards and some craftables. Of all the three paladin specializations, I like retribution least and always have. I find it pointless. (If you want to be a melee-damaging plate-wearer, become a warrior.) Because I'm not geared for it and because I've never devoted the points toward it in my talent tree, I'm not sure why I bother to put a retribution set together. I think it's because I ended The Burning Crusade with a poor holy set and mixed in some poor tanking and retribution pieces to my "holy" set. I like the idea of ending my Lich King career with three respectable sets of armor and weaponry.

First Epic

While playing on Misha this morning, in Un'Goro Crater, battling a tar lord, I had my first epic-quality random drop, ever: Stockade Pauldrons.

After playing for 2 1/2 years, hell, it's about time!

Because I'm a level 49 paladin on Misha, these shoulders would actually benefit me...sorta. I don't like the spirit and defense. I'm not sure if I'm going to sell or wear yet.

How to Save World of Warcraft (or, Cataclysm = Midi-chlorians + Jar Jar Binks)

1) Abandon the idea that leveling is meaningful. Quest points on the map, quest text nobody reads, heirloom xp bonuses and faster levelin...
